Questions actors ask.
How do I run lines when there's nobody to read with me?
Import your sides as a PDF. Subtext reads the script, works out who is in it, and gives every other character a real-sounding voice. It speaks their lines aloud and then waits, listening, while you say yours. You rehearse out loud, in real time, at two in the morning if that's when you're free.
Does it help me memorise, or does it just read at me?
It drills you. Your lines can be hidden entirely so you're recalling rather than reading, with a word revealed at a time when you're stuck. It listens while you speak and follows along, so fumbling a line doesn't stop the scene, and you can run the same scene until it's yours.
Can I record the actual self-tape in it?
Yes. There's a teleprompter, a slate, take-by-take recording, trimming, and export, plus voiceover recording with studio-clean polish. When the tape is done, Subtext hosts it and gives you one short link to send to casting instead of a file too big to email.
What about a real person reading for the tape?

What do I need to run it?
An iPhone or an iPad. Scripts and notes sync between your devices. Filming a self-tape on a second device while the first runs the teleprompter is supported, but one device is all you need.
Do you train AI on my script or my voice?
No. Your scripts and your voice are never used to train any model, ours or anyone else's. We also never put a synthetic voice on your finished self-tape — that's the whole reason the reader link exists. Our full position is on the where we stand on AI page.
